ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
VIOGES has structured an INTEGRAL WATER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, which is developed in five phases:
1.1 Characterization of the water to be treated
- The physical, chemical and biological constituents of each of the possible sources of water capture are determined.
- In wastewater projects, the separation of wastewater, industrial wastewater, infiltrations, rainwater and uncontrolled contributions is ensured.
- A measurement is made of the flow that will enter the treatment plant, determining the average flow and peak flow.
1.2 Evaluation for the installation of the treatment system
- The spaces available for the installation of the treatment plant are verified.
- In the case of industrial wastewater, each stage of the production process is evaluated in detail with the aim of proposing alternatives for source control and discharge minimization.
- The environmental impact generated by the implementation of the new plant is evaluated.
1.3 Characterization analysis
1.4 Evaluation of flow charts – treatment process
- An evaluation is carried out based on theoretical knowledge and experimental data.
- The contracting entity is presented with a clear and summarized conclusion based on the proposed objectives and the detailed analysis of the different alternatives.
Factors Considered
- Initial objectives, goals and needs jointly raised by the project consulting engineer and the contracting entity.
- Previous experience in implementing water treatment systems.
- Requirements and demands of the different control entities.
- Analysis and selection of processes.
- Compatibility with existing installations.
- Investment cost assessment.
- Others.

It is used to precisely define the project criteria considered in the preliminary project, to establish an initial physical distribution of the facilities and to determine the field studies necessary for the final development of the project, for example, geotechnical conditions.
2.2 Preliminary design
It is an extension of the conceptual design, and includes a detailed description of the different elements that make up the project, so that the final project can be developed.
2.3 Special studies
2.4 Proyecto constructivo
It includes the preparation of construction plans and technical specifications for the presentation of the project and/or its subsequent construction. The project includes the measures necessary to reduce or minimize unavoidable environmental impacts.
